PsychCam
Remote psychological counselling service
using
online video conferencing
PsychCam is a
video-based online Psychological Counselling service
via a fast, free Skype or Windows Live Messenger connection.
It was originally set up to provide residents of rural and remote Australia
with access to effective Psychological Counselling (we call it
Therapeutic Coaching), but everyone is welcome. If you live interstate, internationally or just too far from
Northern Sydney to easily attend in person, you can utilise PsychCam.
Sessions are conducted by
senior Registered
Psychologist, Stephanie Thompson. To find out about
session fees and Stephanie's specialities, please read the
Therapeutic Coaching page.
(Prices and most other details are exactly the same for the PsychCam
remote service
as they are for local in-person Therapeutic Coaching services.)
To make a PsychCam
appointment...
-
Open a free
Windows Live Messenger (recommended)
or
Skype account
and get a web camera, if you don't
already have these.
-
Test your video connection
to make sure that
you know how to use it. (It's easy!)
-
Arrange your first appointment
by calling
Stephanie on (+61) (0)421_ 580_ 177 or by emailing stephanie@[this domain
name].com.
That's it! We will email you
any further
details you may need, then Stephanie will call your Skype or Windows Messenger address at the agreed time.
Note that you will need a Visa,
Mastercard or PayPal account to cover session
fees.
Medicare rebates - Telehealth
From 1 July 2011 Medicare Australia is
extending rebates to video health services under their fantastic
Telehealth initiative. However, at the time of writing it
appears that these rebates do not include Allied Health Practitioners such as
Psychologists, even though rebates are available for in-person psychology
services.
We suggest that you keep an eye out for
updates to the
Telehealth web site, or call Medicare direct if you are unsure what rebates apply to you.
